Traditional Manufacturing

The Choepa is crafted according to traditional craftsmanship in small workshops in Nepal and India. The bowl is made from a traditional alloy of seven metals (including copper, tin, and silver) that give it its special sound character.

The manual production is an arduous process: a metal disc is heated and subsequently hand-hammered into shape by several men through many work stages, requiring great skill and strength. This elaborate process is wonderfully reflected in the characteristic, slightly irregular, matte-gloss surface. Every Choepa is a unique piece with a distinctive Sound.
