The Tongue Drum, also known as a tongue drum, hank drum or tank drum, is an easy-to-play percussion instrument with 14 tongues. The sounds are produced by the vibration of steel tongues. Thus, the instrument produces sounds by itself and does not require strings, membranes or external resonators. The melodic sounds have a relaxing and balancing effect. The tongue drum is suitable for playing on your lap thanks to its all-round cotton ring, which is removable and washable for cleaning, making it particularly comfortable to use on your lap.
The flat design of the tongue drum offers advantages when playing with your fingers, as the tones are easier to produce than with bulbous tongue drums, and playing on the side further away from the body is easier.
The tongue drum is an easy-to-play instrument made of copper steel that produces a warm and smooth sound. It can be played by hand or with a stick. Silicone finger tips are included for playing the tongue drum with your fingers; these can simply be pulled over your fingers. Two beaters with silicone heads are included for traditional playing with beaters.
